ServSafe Certification
ServSafe Course/Testing is designated for foodservice owners, operators, managers and supervisors in order to achieve certification on food safety mandates and requirements. Materials have been developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The course fee includes the current edition of ServSafe Essentials, course materials and test. It is mandatory that you pick up the book prior to the class taking place. It is also recommended that you bring your lunch to this class. Note: If you have a group of people who need certification and live in the 10-county area, please call to set up a class in your area.

Coaching Authorization
Coaching Authorization
This course is approved by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. It is a 55 Hour comprehensive coaching education course that, upon successful completion, will provide you with the essential knowledge and credentials to earn your coaching authorization license. This is a hybrid class, 12 hours of face to face classroom and the additional online course work completed at your own pace. At the completion of the course work two tests will be taken with an 80% or better pass rate to receive the Coaching Authorization Certificate.
Once our certificate is obtained you can complete your application for coaching authorization with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, completing all background check forms and submitting all the required fees at www.boee.iowa.gov/licauthorization/coaching-authorization
**Indian Hills also offers CPR training** This course meets the coursework and CPR requirement for the state's coaching authorization application.

This course targets individuals in the medical area who want to learn basic phrases
in Spanish as related to their daily activities. The instructor will introduce different
topics such as greeting, patient privacy information, past medical history, instructions for the physical examination,

treatment, and general vocabulary. Any non-Spanish speaker at any level can register

This "hands-on" course introduces the participants to American Sign Language with basic grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, Deaf History, and information relating to Deaf Culture. The instructor has over 30 years of experience as a Sign Language Interpreter ASL.

Intro to Blacksmithing
This is a one on one, two-hour class, where you will learn the basics to Blacksmithing. You will learn by doing hands on instruction in the use of the coal forge, anvil, and hand tools. Students will complete three projects, forging an S hook, wardrobe (or J) hook and a drive in hook. All material costs are included in the cost of the class. Once you have registered and paid online the instructor will contact you to schedule a date for your class.
Class will be located at Ye Old Crow Blacksmith Shoppe, Eldon, Iowa.

AWS Welding Certification
If you are an experienced welder and would like to move your career to the next level, this is your opportunity. Indian Hills Community College is now an American Welding Society (AWS) Accredited Test Facility (ATF). IHCC is now able to perform AWS Welding Certification Testing for welders. The AWS test will be performed on 3/8 inch steel in 3G and 4G positions. All weld tests are certified to the AWS D1.1 structural welding code.
Contact Amy Hammack, 641-683-5216, to schedule your testing date. Classes can be set up for up to 4 welders per class. Successful participants will receive a certificate stating they have obtained the AWS Certified Welder status. Classes are held on the North Ottumwa Campus in the Aviation Bldg, room 51 and instructed by J. Hopwood. Tuition $234.00
